MUSE FOR THE MOMENT.

I stayed up all night to see where the sun went.  Then it dawned on me.

After running on and off since I was 15 I decided it was time to run a marathon. This meant that my training went from a couple of times a week to five times including some very long runs at weekends.  On race day I could not wait to get going after a taper week of just two short runs I was full of beans! It was a battle for the first 19 miles as I set off in pen 8 which meant I was overtaking for a long time. Finally I had to slow down for the last few and it felt like everyone was going past me! The last few miles were really difficult but the amazing crowds and encouragement from my friends and family got me through. Running for the NSPCC also meant that I had to finish or give back the sponsor money I had raised. Big thanks to the club for all the support and encouragement.

DOING OUR BIT!

On Sunday 25th March 2012, a huge group of our athletes and their families participated in an amazing fundraising event - Sport Relief! In the lovely sunshine and atmosphere we got to meet the famous: Mickey and Minnie Mouse (“WOW”), the mayoress of Bradford as well as the rodeo bull (which our 'more stronger and braver' athletes decided to greet). However, overall the running with our friends and families to raise money for Sport Relief had to be the best part of it. Especially, the race between the parents! An incredible, entertaining day just got better once we realised how much we had raised - over £300. “YEAH”!

WELCOME NEW CLUB MEMBER - BABY NIALL!

Congratulations to Sue and Kev (Wade) on the birth of their first child.  Niall James Costello was born on Tuesday 13th March and both he and Sue are doing well.  It's lucky that Sue is one of the club's top endurance runners as her fitness surely paid off in helping her through what was a long and difficult birth.  Niall weighed in at a massive 9lbs 4oz!  Sounds like he might be a good shot putter when he gets older!
